Human

kidsRecognizing human action is essential to human behavior analysis. Using careful human behavior observation one can derive significant information on the interaction between environment and behavior or genetics and behavior. To enable observations and recordings of human activity, video streams can be utilized to record and analyze observations of human activity in a wide array of applications and environment settings. The use of video recordings to record, score and analyse human behaviour has proven valuable to research areas such as social interaction and individual behavioral and cognitive assessment.

Automating the tracking of the human body, and using this information to score or classify actions, remains a complex problem due to a variety of factors which include self-occlusion and presence of clothing. However, human activity can be manually classified by direct observation of both implicit and explicit behaviors of people in video recordings. In general, the human observer carefully reviews frames in a video to detect/ score events of interest.

sdfActualScore™ is an easy-to-use, affordable web-based tool for researchers to manually score and code any user defined behavior from video. The user simply defines a behavior in any environment setting and using simple key presses, the behavior occurrence is recorded. ActualScore™ event log feature enables replay and review of observational data to ensure accurate classification and scoring of behavior. ActualScore™ allows you to generate high quality behavior data from video quickly and easily with detailed results which can be imported in to most statistical analysis packages for further investigation and graphical representation.
