How do I get my scored events and tracking data back?
You can get all of your raw data back by selecting generate report on the Reports tab of the application, this will generate a report which can be downloaded in Excel or CSV format containing all of your data. See our sample report for details.

Why do I need to generate a report?
You must generate a report so the system can gather all of your data together, and calculate statistics in to a format suitable for you to download. The benefit of this is that if you go back and change your data all you need to do is generate a new report and any changes will be immediately included.

What data does a report contain?
A report contains all of the information you have stored for the experiment and any trials within it. For each trial it contains all of the raw scoring and tracking data, see our sample report for an example.

What statistics does a report contain?
A full list of the information a report contains and how each value is calculated is located here

Do you have a sample report?
Yes, here are sample CSV and Excel reports which show what data we export.

How do I use the exported results?
You can use the exported results in any common spread sheet or analysis package that can read .xls or .csv files. For example Excel, R, MATLAB, SPSS and SAS.

What is the difference between CSV and Excel export?
Excel export provides a Microsoft Excel file with all of your data. Excel files can be read by most packages, however there are some that cannot import Excel data. CSV export is a ZIP file containing a CSV file for each trial containing the trial data, almost every spreadsheet and analysis package can read CSV files.

How many reports can I have?
You can have an unlimited number of reports. If you wish to delete old reports you can select the delete action next to the report you would like to delete in the list on the Report tab of the application.

Why have multiple reports?
By having multiple reports you can easily modify some parameters of the tracking, or add additional annotations and you can quickly see the effect of the changes without having to re-track your trials. All historical reports are stored and provide a snapshot of your data at the point in time the report was generated.

How long does a report take to generate?
It usually takes less than a minute to generate a report, if the system is very busy it may take longer. Like any task in the system the task will continue in the background even if you logout, so next time you login it will be completed.

Do you export / calculate X, Y, or Z?
We calculate a large number of common statistics, if there is something else that you would like to see, please let us know and we'll do our best to add it into the report.

Why are trial results in reports truncated?
Excel has a maximum number of rows of 65536 which equates to about 1 hr 40 mins of results, if a trial is longer than this then both CSV and Excel results will be truncated.

Why does the total time spent in a zone add up to more than the duration of the trial?
If you define a zone which then has multiple overlapping regions then the animal will be counted as being in both regions at the same time, this is then summed and it could lead to inaccurate durations being reported. The solution to this is to ensure that no regions within the same zone overlap.
