Time Binning of Zone Entries and Behavior Occurrences in Excel

This Excel sheet allows you to define time bins in which data should be tabulated, i.e. simply see the total time spent in a zone or undertaking a behavior by the animal in given time intervals during each trial. This works for both Scored Behaviors using ActualScore and Zone entries generated using ActualTrack.

  1. Download the TimeBinningZones+Behaviors.xls file and open both the results file and this file in Excel.
  2. Enter the time bin length in seconds in the green configuration tab on the TimeBinningZones+Behaviors.xls file
  3. Select the Zone or Behavior column from the trial data tab in the results file by selecting the column heading.
  4. Copy the selection.
  5. Select column A on the data tab of the time binning sheet by selecting the column headings.
  6. Paste the values from the clipboard.

Result: The time binned values are show in in column C of the Trial tab.
