Actual Analytics Ltd. is proud to announce that its innovative Home Cage Analyser (HCA) technology has been prominently featured in a recent publication in Arthritis Research & Therapy. The study, titled “Using in vivo calcium imaging to examine joint neuron spontaneous activity and home cage analysis to monitor activity changes in mouse models of arthritis,” highlights the significant role of HCA in advancing arthritis research.
The research, led by George L. Goodwin and colleagues, utilised Actual Analytics' HCA system to monitor locomotor activity in group-housed mice with induced arthritis. The study demonstrated that HCA provided valuable insights into behavioural changes associated with joint pain, complementing in vivo calcium imaging techniques to assess joint afferent activity. This integrated approach offers a more comprehensive understanding of arthritis pathophysiology and pain.
The HCA system's ability to unobtrusively monitor rodent behaviour in a naturalistic setting has made it an indispensable tool in preclinical research. By providing continuous, real-time data on animal activity, HCA enables researchers to detect subtle behavioural changes that may be indicative of disease progression or treatment efficacy.
This publication underscores the growing importance of advanced behavioural monitoring technologies in biomedical research and highlights Actual Analytics' commitment to supporting scientific advancements in the understanding and treatment of arthritis.
